A new Japanese restaurant concept is on its way to Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village. Miso Japanese Tapas, a new brand from Chef Thuan Lam—who founded Phat Boy Sushi & Kitchen and currently owns and operates Poke LoLo, a poke restaurant also in the Flagler area—will open in suite 400 at 819 NE Second Ave. before the end of this year.
“What we’re doing is small plates, family style sharing, with some sushi and hot food from the kitchen,” Lam told What Now on Monday morning. The menu, he says, will feature Japanese cuisine “influenced by stuff I grew up with. There will be some Vietnamese and Filipino influences.”
To drink: a selection of beers, wines, and sakes.
The Second Avenue location sits among shops like custom t-shirt store World Paper and candle store Wood & Wick, situated not from Progresso Drive. Following that route northeast, one finds 27 Bar & Lounge and Good Luck Cat Cafe.
No official opening date has been announced for Miso Japanese Tapas, but keep a look out. Chef Lam’s newest project is coming soon.
